What a happy start to the Mount Vernon Elementary School year! It has been great catching up with all of the students and hearing about their summer adventures.
For those of you who do not know, I am Michelle Hood and I am your new Elementary Principal. I have been a teacher in Mount Vernon for nine years and lead teacher for 6. I am very excited to serve the students, staff, parents, and community in this new role.
A little bit about me: I have been married for 24 years and have 3 grown sons and 2 granddaughters. On my time off I enjoy ATV riding, traveling, and spending time with family. I am also a huge dog lover and the kiddos at school all know about my big white golden retriever Odin, my little shih tzu named Mavy, and my poodle mix named Fin Fin!
