6TH GRADE ADVISOR/ADVISEE

Goals

Transition and group building emphasizing communication, listening skills, respect, diversity

Activities

The goals for sixth graders are transition and group building activities emphasizing communication, listening skills, respect and diversity. To this end, extended advisee was spent discussing the differences and commonalities in our individual groups. Then, we began a plan to create an “advisee community” by coming up with a name for our community as well as a nickname, a flag and a bumper sticker. On Advisee Day Out, we will continue this process until we have fully developed our entire community. We will also be participating in a community scavenger hunt, forming an advisee group puzzle and placing things of interest to us and to our advisee group in a time capsule that will be opened at the end of 8th grade.
