Senior Highlight Ryan Smith

Mrs. O’Donoghue would like to recognize her advisee and chemistry student Ryan Smith.   Ryan is a compassionate and caring individual who I have enjoyed seeing grow and mature in so many ways over these past four years. Each year of high school he has taken on more challenging course work and become more involved by joining Civil Rights Team, Math Team, and the Gaming Club.  I can recall his hesitancy with the thought of some of our advisee volunteer work, but when each day came, he gave it his all and enjoyed the experience whether it was at the animal shelter, working with kindergarteners, or cleaning up along Route 41 in the most memorable advisee trek ever!   Ryan is a voracious reader with diverse interests who plans to pursue a career in the social sciences. Congratulations and best wishes.

Mr. Gower would also like to recognize Ryan Smith. Ryan is a deep thinker, he has thought more deeply about some subjects than I have and that allowed him to ask questions and make comments that challenged me on a regular basis. Stanley Milgram would have found Ryan interesting, because he finds conformity to be such a fascinating topic. I know how much he enjoys playing “Devil’s Advocate” and he may or may not know that we have that in common! Ryan is principled and stays true to his principles and is willing to defend them. I always appreciated his honesty and his courage. “No legacy is so rich as honesty.” William Shakespeare. Good luck and best wishes!
