Senior Highlight Dana Reynolds

Herr Fecteau would like to thank Dana Reynolds for all of her tireless effort in German. Dana is currently in German 4 and has been one of the program’s hungriest learners throughout her tenure at Maranacook. In the very best of ways, Dana is a shameless learner of language. She is never afraid of making mistakes and she thrives in so many ways where others fall short. It’s often said that speaking a language is 90% confidence and 10% skill; for that reason, Dana has been and will always be a gifted learner of language. She will finish her 4 years off strongly as a former recipient of a Certificate of Excellence from the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) and as a proud member of GAPP 2019, where the school celebrated its 40th year of overseas partnership. Best of luck to her next year!

Mr. Gower would also like to recognize Dana. If you ever find a way to take your joy and exuberance and bottle it you’ll be a millionaire easily! From role playing historical figures, to singing along with the Sound of Music in Austria, to analyzing your dreams in Psychology it has been my pleasure to learn along with you the last two years. Your enthusiasm for life and compassion for others lifts everyone around you and makes learning more enjoyable overall. I have enjoyed watching you grow and find your areas of interest and passion. Never stop asking questions and “Don’t Stop Believin’” (Journey)!

Mr Magnusson also has to add a few comments about Dana.  Dana has a unique ability to bring people together.  Dana came to Maranacook and joined our Advisee her Sophomore year.  She helped make a good group a great group and made every minute together interesting.  Her attitude is amazing and brings out the best in everyone around her.  Dana has also been selected to All State Music Festival the last four years.  She also received a rare selection to the Eastern Music Festival in Pittsburgh in 2019 (1 of 2 students at Maranacook)  She  sings with the Sandy River Ramblers in her spare time.  She has been a big contributor to the Cross Country and Alpine Teams and has been a big part of multiple championships.  Thank you for making Maranacook a better place.  You have truly left a lasting imprint on our school.
